I have a feeling that if Anet decided to sell gold in their store, it would dramatically increase inflation in the game and probably lead to a decreased value in gold overall. Afterall, more people would be able to buy expensive items (supply and demand). The number of items for sale would be the same, but the number of buyers probably would increase (since more and more people would buy gold).

So the 100k you bought today, might be worth 90k in a month, 70k in 3 months, 50k in 4 months....etc. Imagine how people who don't buy gold would feel. They are working hard to earn money and have to farm more and more for the same items.

That would probably kill the game for a lot of people.

I doubt it.

Gaile doesn't have to be awesome at GvG to do her job properly... amazingly enough.
You pretty much suck at analogies. Gaile represents the game Guild Wars. She has such a poor understanding of the game that she thinks she's hit her teammates with poison arrow in a GvG. She doesn't even know the very very basic workings of the game she represents. I'd say that's very relevant when listening to whatever else she says about the game. If she couldn't tapdance or type 120 wpm, I wouldn't care. If she said that ignite arrows barrage was a godly combo (like that end boss in pre-sear, gj there anet guys) then I'd start to wonder about her qualifications.

You mean her qualifications to relay messages back and forward from a team to the community? Because GOD KNOWS that you need to be the next Shakespeare to perform such a divine act!

/Signed only if this enables you to hand in 100k for real cash :P
Otherwise, no. This would horribly destroy in-game economy in so many ways, as no doubt others have posted before me.

She was being self-deprecating. It's humour.
